What is it?
LEADCON is a unique opportunity that provides student Thespian leadership training for troupe officers.  Training includes ways to help young leaders learn to work with diverse groups, manage demanding schedules, productive and positive methods for dealing with the stress of school, productions, social media and leadership.  But LEADCON is also so much more.  LEADCON is learning that there are others across Illinois that do what you do.  It’s an opportunity to network for both students and sponsors, to learn from others and share your expertise as well.

LEADCON is an opportunity to learn what other schools do with their Thespian troupes in terms of fundraising, initiations and officer roles.  You also learn more about the Educational Theatre Association and what it has to offer you, such as professional development, a community of thousands of theatre educators across the country, advocacy tools and more.

What does it cost?
Only $15 will provide both adults and students with a Saturday lunch, snacks,  and supplies.  Any additional money is then used to support our TALENTED Thespians with scholarships! If your troupe would like to also apply for Honor Troupe status and take home a large trophy, an extra $5 will be charged per troupe.
Why should I or my students attend LEADCON?
Because it’s fun, educational and worth it to your students and your troupe. This event is an excellent way for both you and your students to start off another productive and busy year with the tools, contacts and skills that can make for a stronger, happier Thespian troupe that uses what was learned and applies it.
How do I attend LEADCON?
Troupe directors need to complete the registration forms and have all attendees complete the medical release forms.  If you have any questions or concerns about LEADCON or why you and your students should attend this valuable workshop, please don’t hesitate to email or call the state chapter director.

Why do this?  You get to plan LEADCON, lead groups, share your love of theatre, and have a say on what Thespians look like in our state! - oh, and it's really, really fun -
