Illinois State Thespian Society is affiliated with the Educational Theatre Association and its student organization the International Thespian Society.

The purpose of the Society shall be the advancement and improvement of the theatre arts in schools in the State of Illinois.

 Illinois State Thespians’ purpose is to:

  1. Encourage students to be patrons of theatre--creating life long learners.
  2. Prepare students for higher education in theatre and/or for entrance into the world of work. 
  3. Provide continuing education and clock hours for theatre educators
